Hi, PoDoFo's font subsetting is currently a bit clumsy to use. Automatic generation of the minimal subset is not possible. Currently you can only use the encodings to create font subsets, for anything more sophisticated you might need to patch the library. I am sorry, but there was no time to put more effort into this feature.
