As for SSL, I've made some progress trying to get what I'd started
into something resembling a working state. I've got a somewhat
working Wheel::SSLSocketFactory which can accept SSL connections (but
which promptly chokes due to certificate and keying problems unrelated
to POE). I'm going to be poking (or would that be poeking :) at it
today to try and get the certificate stuff straightened out.
