Excel documents are made up of records.  The best source of information on 
what's in these records is the Excel 97 Developers Kit book.  This is not 
in print anymore but can be purchased second hand.  A no cost option is 
open office XLS spec.  You can find more information here:

details?  What exactly do you mean by "the OBJ record"?  What existing 
parts of the POI project would be used for this?  I read the excel file 
format PDF, searched google many many times, etc.. and I haven't seen 
anything about these form controls.  Any kind of leads you could give 
would be great.  Thanks again.
