All 2.X releases are off a REL_2_BRANCH. If you checkout cvs as of March 4, 2004, you'll get what is known as the 2.5-final release. But why would you want to do that anyways, when you can download the pre-built version?
i have several problems with the pre-built version and i've fixed already an ArrayOutOfBounds and a NullPointer problem. but i was not sure if i use old or up to date sources.
