Hi Paul. Look at
http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/hssf/how-to.html Read it exactly and there's a further link which contains that sample HSSF class. It's an example about reading and writing. There in the case of generating a new workbook you see how to create a new sheet within the workbook. Why do you want to generate it from the scratch? Loading a template, changing some things and writing it using a different name can make a lot of things quite easy which might be quite complex doing them by foot. I haven't seen a Book.addSheet(Sheet) method. I have tried creating a new sheet from the new target book. Using row and cell iterators, I create rows and cells. and copy the attributes of the source cells to the tartget cells. However, I seem to miss all of the formatting like backgrounds and column spans. Appreciate any assiot Regards, Paul Hardiman 813-273-3042 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
