variant types

Poi does not suppot Variant.VT_R8 data type
(org.apache.poi.hpsf.TypeReader in release,
org.apache.poi.hpsf.VariantSupport on cvs). 
This type is offen used for properties in ms word documents.
Can anybody resolve this bug?
