Hi all, Since about 2 weeks we're having "trouble" receiving email from the ISP Chello. It's mailserver is getting itself blacklisted because of "helo abuse".
That would be correct because our limit is set to the default of 10 and upto now I'm counting 18 HELO names for IP 213.46.255.22. Now, of course I can up that number to, say, 20 because only Chello does this but then I think I'm losening the ropes for all mailservers in the world because of 1 ISP. I'd like to know what you think of this; how would you handle it? Also, what I'm seeing is that it looks like Chello is trying to deliver an email for the second time right after the first attempt when it receives a 450 error instead of waiting a few minutes. Is anyone else seeing something like this (not necessarily Chello)? Below is an example log for both cases. Thanks, Rob === First Attempt === May 23 11:34:57 server postfix/smtpd[2843]: connect from viefep18-int.chello.at[213.46.255.22] May 23 11:34:57 server postfix-policyd: rcpt=91446, greylist=new, host=213.46.255.22 (viefep18-int.chello.at), [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], size=0 May 23 11:34:57 server postfix/smtpd[2843]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from viefep18-int.chello.at[213.46.255.22]: 450 4.7.1 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Recipient address rejected: Policy Rejection- Please try later.; from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> proto=ESMTP helo=<viefep16-int.chello.at> May 23 11:34:58 server postfix/smtpd[2843]: disconnect from viefep18-int.chello.at[213.46.255.22] === === Second attempt === May 23 11:34:58 server postfix/smtpd[2844]: connect from viefep18-int.chello.at[213.46.255.22] May 23 11:34:59 server postfix-policyd: rcpt=91447, greylist=abuse, host=213.46.255.22 (viefep18-int.chello.at), [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], size=0 May 23 11:34:59 server postfix/smtpd[2844]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from viefep18-int.chello.at[213.46.255.22]: 450 4.7.1 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Recipient address rejected: Policy Rejection- Please try later.; from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> proto=ESMTP helo=<viefep14-int.chello.at> === ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
