    Russian programmer charged with violating copyright law in U.S.
    returns to Moscow
    MOSCOW. Dec 31 (Interfax) - Russian computer software specialist
    Dmitri Sklyarov charged with violating the Digital Millennium
    Copyright Act in the United States returned to Moscow on Monday.

       According to an Interfax reporter, at the airport he was welcomed
    by his family and close friends.

       Sklyarov told Interfax that he would see the New Year in with his
    "near and dear ones."

       Earlier Vladimir Katalov, executive director of the Russian
    Elcomsoft company for which Sklyarov worked, told Interfax that the
    programmer plans to hold a news conference for American journalists
    and meet the leadership of the Electronic Frontier Foundation that
    supported him ever since his arrest.

       Earlier Sklyarov's lawyers won court approval for Sklyarov's return
    to Russia. Now he will be waiting for the court decision on the
    Elcomsoft case in Moscow calling representatives of U.S. justice once
    a month.
