No, it doesn't return anything. But if I kill window manager, respawned desktop has everything setup correctly and all issues are gone.
As it tries to launch a CK session in normal bootup with below: if (!ck_connector_open_session_with_parameters(connector, &error, "unix-user", &pass->pw_uid, "display-device", &d, "x11-display-device", &d, "x11-display", &n, NULL)) It would return Error: Unable to open session with ConsoleKit: org.freedesktop.CkConnector.Error: Unable to open session: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 0 But in respawned desktop, this call works fine Thanks, Peter > -----Original Message----- > From: David Zeuthen [mailto:da...@fubar.dk] > Sent: Saturday, January 30, 2010 1:29 AM > To: Zhu, Peter J > Cc: polkit-devel@lists.freedesktop.org > Subject: RE: My system doesn't allow me do anything > > On Sat, 2010-01-30 at 00:48 +0800, Zhu, Peter J wrote: > > Thanks David. > > > > I can't run this agent successfully with following info: > > (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:962): polkit-gnome-1-WARNING > > **: Unable to determine the session we are in : Remote Exception > > invoking org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager.GetSessionForUnixProcess() > > on /org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Manager at name > org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit: > > org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager.GeneralError:unable to lookup session > > information for process 962. > > Looks like your ConsoleKit installation is busted.
