"That bitch." was Julia's response as Alex took the needed images and
grimaced at Julia's quiet anger. Not because she saw anything wrong with
it... but because she totally agreed with it. Had Julia known about it and
able to return then..... Karen would have gotten more than she had.
And so the tests went on.....
Derek came over to Julia holding electrodes in his hand. "Brain wave
scans," he said simply. "Julia...I am sorry we have to put you through all
this." He was sorry for a lot more than that, but didn't say it. He
careful put gel on her forehead and taped the electrodes down on top. Then,
he moved to a computer and set up a program to compare the current waves
with the ones they had on file. Julia's currently brain activity could be
scene on the monitor, spiking and dipping, leveling out and spiking again.
This test was one of the faster ones and to try and keep the process as
short as possible, Derek did some spectral analysis at teh same time. Derek
had remained silently, allowing the two friends to talk without
interruption. He liked having his team back together, but felt a bit
awkward treating Julia like a specimen.
