Kat nodded, not that she was allowed to do that anyway, and took Julia's
hand without hesitation.
Julia smiled slightly and nodded at what
Derek said. Obviously he had spotted her walk out, not that it surprised
her if the system was as updated as it had been before.... she mentally shook
her head and went with the others, giving Alex an assuring smile as she stayed
behind, not by choice but because someone needed to stay behind that was part of
the House and make sure the others managed all right.
"Doctor," she said suddenly then looked up at Julia, "My mom, she's a
doctor, a real doctor not like Derek," then her face turned red, "I
mean...."
Derek chuckled, "I know." They reached the doors just as Rachel and Danae entered. Even the others grinned at that... both Nick and Juila had picked on him at one time or another about the different 'Doctors' there were and his particular 'Doctor-ship'. When they got outside they saw Rachel wasn't alone. Kat looked at Julia, "that's our next door neighbor," she
whispered. "but...she's never come here before."
Julia shared a curious shrug with her and
whispered "It must be visitor night." to make sure Kat remained at ease.
She then turned her gaze and met the other woman's as Derek spoke about needing
her for a moment. Without even thinking because this was suddenly getting
a little scary for herself - even though she knew it wouldn't stop her from
going through with talking about it - she unconsciously reached for Nick's hand
and gave it a squeeze, needing something to anchor her to rock solid reality,
even if the rest was in fact very much real.
She noticed Kat give a little shiver and
gave her a friendly, curious nudge with the hand she was still holding, at the
same time wondering if she had changed her mind and wanted to drop the
subject "Cold?"
