The others had come in and Julia saw Nick hop up on the table and her lips twitched before her expression settled to include the others and the matter at hand.

She looked at Kat and smiled softly and even turned herself to her, sitting sideways on the couch to give the girl her full attention and to answer her as best she could.

She reached out and brushed some errant hair out of the girl's eyes as she also turned to her.

Julia then lowered her hands and held Kat's loosely, making it easy for her to take them out at any time she would wish to.

"Well, when a person dies, their spirit leaves their body and they go to a... well a waiting room would be the best way to describe it." she admitted thoughtfully "From there your spirit is given it's direction.  Some people that were totally awesome in this life get to go straight through one place... those that were exceptionally bad get another..."

She was remembering bits and pieces as spoke, little flashes of memories "Then there's some people that are on an equal keel... they've done good but they'd done some bad too... those people have to wait a little and are then assigned."

Her gaze focused on Kat.  She remembered that she had been stopped.. and there had been confusion.  She... hadn't fit any bill.

"Your father and brother," she said, somehow knowing it to be the truth "Were guided through to the Light."

Something very similar to earlier happened again and she got a quick flash of words and even an image.  She looked at Kat to see if perhaps she had felt/seen it.  Julia had been touching her the last time too....

"I think they were made guardians for you and your mother.... they hadn't wanted to leave you two but it was their time.  They asked... " she paused and seemed to be 'listening' to something or pondering something enough that she had tilted her head to the side.. and then stopped as the door suddenly opened and a woman with blond hair came in and made herself at home before shooting off a couple of questions.

Julia looked at Derek.  This was private and frankly, she wasn't going to continue with an audience she didn't know or wasn't directly involved.
