She turned and ran back upstairs and to her room, packing things into a
duffle, grabbing a pair of tennis shoes she found in the closet and pressed
a panel in the wall she had had installed the week before they had gone to
Ireland. It opened up and she grabbed the folded duffle bag there and the
variety of small weapons. Derek hadn't been the only one with a secret
compartment.. even if his had been more of a doozie than her own. She had
put this here in case someone had tried taking over the house. She had been
security then, she was going to be security now.
She was running back down in record time, two bags in hand.
She spared Nick a quick look before leaving. She didn't know why but his
attitude had started to piss her off. Best to help out the team and not
have nightmares all night than to stay here and let it eat away at her.
Derek smiled when saw her coming out carrying two familiar looking duffe
bags. This was the Julia he remembered. He got into the driver's side of
the SUV and handed Julia the map, "why don't you navigate," he suggested.
After everyone was in, he started towards the ferry landing, glad that they
had taken to late night runs. Unfortunately, they'd mostly likely have to
leave the car on the other side and take a boat back, but for now he was
just concerned about getting across and fortunately, it was very close when
they arrived at the dock. Not the fast way to get to their location, but
getting a car at this time of night once on the mainland would be a larger
pain and take far more time, which Derek was quite certain was valuable.
