"Deal." was all she said as she got in and accepted the map being given her.
After a quick perusal she realized two things; San Francisco hadn't changed
and she hadn't gotten 'rusty' in the other realm. One minute of studying
the map, getting the location of the person they were going after and she
was already giving Derek directions on where to go and the time it should
take him. Even a short cut to cut down on that time if he wanted, which she
was sure he did.
Derek took the short cut Julia pointed out and they were at Ria's apartment
building in a fairly short period of time, though to Derek it seemed like an
eternity. Another disturbing flash hit him, causing him to slam on the
brakes suddenly, jolting everyone in the car. He took a deep breathe and
began to speed up again. "I'm sorry," he apologized to Julia and Philip.
Once the car was parked he got out and looked at the two team members. "I
don't know what we are walking into," he said, "so be cautious."
