Reese finished off the second cup of coffee and saw that the waitress was on her way to bringing the food out so she slowly pushed her chair back and excused herself to go to the ladies room.   "I'll be right back," she said before looking at Sam and teasing "And no sneaking my bacon either."   Claire gave Brady a quick kiss and got up, grinning at him with a wink "Ditto, babe."   They headed toward the ladies room, having stopped by the waitress and asked directions, and gave each other a quick 'should we wait til later?' look at the large man that stood, because of his size alone, in the middle of the small corridor leading to the bathrooms.  And his tone indicated he wasn't in the best of moods.   "Maybe we should.." Reese whispered to Claire, only to have the guy slam the phone down into it's cradle and whirl around, the force of his movement so quick and angry it made both girls jump.   "Go around me and quit listening!" he snapped at them, the veins in his neck practically pulsing.   "Uh, we were ..." Reese started lamely before motioning for Claire to head back the way they came "We'll just --"   The guy stepped in her way and then toward her, making Reese back up into the wall to keep from being knocked into by him "You tryin' to be a smart ass?"   "N- "   "Hey, leave her alone." Claire had ducked under the hulk's arm and stepped between the two, taking Reese by the arm and moving them both away from the wrestler-sized guy before yelping as he reached out suddenly and caught her by the shoulder and tug her back."   Reese growled low and bit off a curse as she moved Claire from his grasp "We're leaving if you'll let us!"   "Bitch!" The man grabbed her roughly around the arm and slammed her up into the wall "Always trying to control me.. all you women are the same -- well, I'll make you -"   Reese stomped down hard on his foot and dashed under his arm much like Claire did and they picked up their pace as they headed toward the populated part of the main restaurant.   "Oh no you don't." The man hissed to himself before going after them.   "SAAMMMM!!" "BRADY!!"  were the only things they had enough time to yell out before the man pulled them out of a side exit and threw them hard up against the brick wall, only to grab Reese roughly by the shoulders and raising his hands to about her neck and glaring down at her.   And Reese snapped.   She felt the air about her charge and she glared right back up at the guy before grinding out, "Let.. go..   of ME!"   Heat flashed between the two and in the next instant the guy was flying up and over a row of cars, landing hard on the pavement.   Marissa stared in mute horror at what she had just done.   Oh god....     http://www.access-eworld.com/poltergeist_legacy/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was a suspect.."
