Sam had rushed out just in time to see the man fall. She ran to Marissa's
side. "Are you okay," was her first question, then she looked at the man
lying on the ground. He seemed to be rather stunned, but as far as she
could tell otherwise all right. Her green eyes turned to Milo who was
trying to shoo them all back inside. "He looks okay to me," she said
flatly. "I'd
make sure he wants an ambulance before you call one." Then she raised her
voice slightly, to make sure it carried to the guy. "He might not want it
to get out that a couple of girls kicked his butt." She'd run across his
type before. Bullies who thought they had some God given right to beat up
on women, and she had NO tolerance for that at all.

Marissa looked at her hands and then at Sam, gaze bleak. Hadn't even met
Milo less than an hour and now her father knew she was a freak.
"What am I going to do, Sam?" she whispered, looking like she was close to
crying. If she weren't careful it was all, everything from the last week,
going to break the emotional dam that she had set up inside herself. And
her body was starting to make it known that it didn't appreciate being
ignored. She still hadn't eaten and the lack of sleep......... and now
this...
She couldn't meet Milo's gaze and kept her eyes aimed in the general
direction of Sam's shoes.
"Are you sure he's not... dead?" she asked in the same tone, needing to know
for sure.
Claire came up to them and touched her arm gently, even when Reese flinched
away to keep her from getting hurt, to which she just settled it back again
"He's fine. Didn't even get a scorch mark, Reese."
She squeezed Reese's arm just a little and whispered calmly "You won't hurt
me. You got pissed at him and acted in self defense and still stayed in
control. Remember that."
People started coming out to see what had happened and she stepped back to
go into Brady's arms, assuring him she just had a couple of cuts and scrapes
but was fine for the most part.
Reese looked at Sam, the emotional struggle evident in her eyes.
