She followed the woman to the island, making sure her presence remained
unfelt or seen.

The woman had come, she heard her speaking to Marissa, to help Marissa with
her power.

No one saw the dark dissipating cloud that formed and them crossed over the
security gate near the water, nor did they see the cloud form into a
transparent almost human form as it moved closer to the house, watching the
woman as she drove the vehicle up to and parked underneath a covered drive
way that circled the front of the modernized castle.

It wasn't until the cloud/woman sensed another nearby and with a level of
loathing that worked like a magnet to her. Darkness, after all, knew
darkness.

"It's not the woman you loathe," she spoke suddenly behind the man that also
watched the house, her movements having been soundless and approach unknown
until she spoke

"But someone..." she felt the truth of her words as she spoke them "that
cares for her."

She smiled coolly when the man/demon turned toward her "I believe we can
help one another brethren."

"As a matter of fact," she said, moving her hand in a circular motion and
both of their forms moving from the grounds and to a position where they
could, if they so wished, still watch, but ran less of a chance at getting
caught "I know we can. Tell me of the one you have such hatred for.. and
how it is related to the woman that just entered the house."

((sorry about the delay, mail server bad!!))

I looked at her for a moment, "why would you want to help me?" I asked her,
though I thought I could already answer that for myself. There was power
within the house, and to make even the slightest dent in their defences
would require reinforcements...already in place were a number of interesting
twists, later I would take time to enjoy the creation but for now..."the
woman is of little concern," I replied, "a pawn...but sometimes the pawns
can be the most valuable piece in a game...sometimes they become queen."
