had anything to eat all day and I'm feeling kinda hungry '' I smiled sweetly
to Jonathan as I asked him this. '' Also, have my things arrived yet? has
somebody been to get them? I really need them. '' I had a plan which could
work if only the butler would leave me alone.

And Jonathan knew a pitch when he heard it. When Megan was back in bed,
instead of going off like she probably planned, he used the nearby phone to
call down to Cook, then hung up and took a seat next to the door "Lunch and
drink will arrivie shortly, someone's been sent to get your luggage and you
need your rest."
In other words he wasn't leaving anytime soon so she might as well get the
rest.
He hadn't worked this long for the Professor without learning a thing or
two -- or realizing a line or two.
