She entered right after her friend and saw Rachel tossing from side to side,
crying and shrinking from Nick's touch. When she saw Julia she stopped,
eyes wide as she tried to sit up and talk to her.

"Kat.. where's Kat.. Nick won't let me see Kat." Rachel tried pulling the
covers off of herself "Help me find Kat, Julia."

Julia gave Alex and Nick an apologetic look as she came around and sat on
the edge of Rachel's bed, reaching out and stilling the woman by her
shoulders, keeping her voice and gaze steady and repeating herself until it
finallly pierced Rachel's haze.

"Kat's okay, Rachel. She's safe. We've been watching her." She said,
making her tone a kind of rhythm she remembered had helped her a time or two
with actual drug abusers "Rachel, Kat's safe. She's going to the zoo to see
the animals."

Rachel looked at her, stilling and allowing Julia to guide her back into a
laying position "Zoo? Kat loves the monkeys... they make her laugh..."

Julia managed a slight smile and stroked the hair from Rachel's face "I bet
she immitates them sometimes, doesn't she?"

Rachel smiled and nodded, unconsciouslessly taking Julia's hand in her own
"She looks even funnier than the monke- UGH."

A cramp suddenly hit and she flinched into a half fetal position, squeezing
Julia's wrist as the wave of pain hit her.

Oh god that hurt. Julia barely kept from gasping in pain as she shifted and
tried to hold her to ride the wave out with her.

"Call the doctor." she mouthed to Derek, even as she took the opprotunity to
check for track marks without being obvious.

None.

Of course.....

"It hurts..." Rachel cried into Julia's shirt, shaking "Make it stop,
please... what's making me.. " she groaned again as another wave of cramping
hit.

Derek:
This was worse than he'd imagined. Derek began to wonder if taking her to
the house was a good idea, a hospital might be better, but hospitals kept
records and retrieving them was not always that easy. He pulled his phone
out and dialed the number that appeared on a card he had brought with him.
"Dr. North? My name is Derek Rayne...I'm the chairman of the Luna
Foundation here in San Francisco. I understand you did some consultations
in London and we could use your assistance here. Would you mind coming out
to Angel Island as soon as possible. We should be back out there within the
next few hours."
