"How is she," Derek asked a look of concern on his face. "Was Dr. North
able to do anything for her?"

Julia gave his arm a reassuring squeeze and look before excusing herself and
going to the bedroom to both look in on Rachel for herself and check on
Ingrid.

The nurse motioned for Derek to follow her as she picked up the patient's
chart and reported the status of patient and progress. "We've gotten
through the worst part, which was helping her through the withdraw of the
heroine, now it's just a matter of getting her off of all the drugs, slowly,
and making sure she's as comfortable as possible during the transition. The
heroine of course will not clear her system completely for a while but
she'll be at the point that she'll be able to resist the need and have
control over it when we're done here.

"I was just going to go home and take a small break before returning and was
touching base with the doctor if you'd like to join in?"

Julia entered the bedroom and smiled in quiet greeting as Ingrid looked up.
There were faint circles under the woman's eyes and Julia moved to take her
place at Rachel's side, accepting the sponge she had been using to wipe
Rachel's brow.

"Derek's in the livingroom, go visit." she instructed her gently, knowing
Derek would have a better chance at getting Ingrid to rest than she would.

Ingrid smiled at the prospect of seeing her brother, albeit with a hint of
weariness but she hugged Julia and straightened "I'll be back."

Julia returned the hug and then turned to tend to Rachel. There was color
in the woman's cheeks that hadn't been there before. A good sign.

Ingrid entered the livingroom but remained silent as he spoke to the nurse,
listening herself.
