The cell phone rang a couple of times as he waited for Derek to answer.
When the Precept did, he explained what was going on, agitation in his voice
but determination in his words as he finished with "I'll stay here until
hell freezes over if it takes that long to track the jerk down."
Alex sat back, at a stand still in the investigation in this route and
wondering if Nick was faring any better.

Derek was concerned by the tone in Nick's voice. He admired the young mans
determination. However, he often let his hot head prevail in thes
situations. "How about if I send you seme back up," he suggested. And
someone that could keep him from doing anything rash.
