Derek greeted teh nurse and watched the exchange between the two women. For
the first time, he actually felt better about leaving the nurse alone with
Rachel. "Perhaps you should get some rest," he suggested slipping off the
stool and giving her a warm hug. "We'll bring Kat by tomorrow evening after
dinner...perhaps we can bring dessert." He thought Kat might like that.
Rachel looked at the nurse, already knowing what she would say and so
suggested wryly "Pudding or jello, yes I know."
She looked amused as Derek hugged her and returned it, only to stiffle a
yawn and stand.
Julia, having seen Derek's look her way, had already poured some of the
broth in a tea cup and had drank it. So all Rachel had to worry about was
drinking a little and Jonathan would think she had had most of it.
Sure, the eating machine, she made a face at him before winking and going
over to hug Rachel as well.
"Preferably pudding." Rachel added before turning to the nurse and standing
"Okay, master, lead the way."
Julia watched as the two women went toward the bedroom, commenting to Derek
"I'm glad she's doing this well."
She had already cleaned up in the kitchen and looked at him with a small
smile of her own "Ready or did you want to stay a while longer?"
