Derek then turned to Julia.  "I better go catch up with Nick before he turns
in."  He put down his coffee and kissed her goodbye.  "No speeding in that
thing," he told her as he headed for the stairs.

Nick was already calling up what he could on the third guy, going over everything with a fine tooth comb until he heard the sound of the entrance opening and looked up.

"It has to be this last guy, Derek," He said by way of greeting, jaw clenching once before he raised an eyebrow curiously "Julia suggested we call Frank to get an unofficial little driveby look at his address since we don't have hard proof to get them involved officially.  She sounded like she wasn't really going to be involved in this one."

As if, he thought, she were stepping back from Legacy work for some reason.  Alex and Nick had ended up talking about Julia's position or, more specifically, what her position was considering she hadn't been given back her old one and she wasn't taking on any official ones yet.

Of course, considering Julia had told him that she could be found in Derek's office later doing Luna Foundation paperwork -- well he was definitely curious.  Had the Legacy refused her a position already and just haven't told the team yet?

"The second guy checked out with an alibi.  He's been out of the country for the past four months and had documents to back it up.  I checked them out and it's all clean."
