Once showered and shaved he dressed and headed to the kitchen meeting Kat on
the way. The little girl looked as though she had been wide awake for
hours. He smiled at her, "Good morning Kat."
The little girl smiled back, "good morning." She wasn't so worried about
him being upset anymore. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood as they
entered the kitchen together.
Julia looked up and smiled at both of them, breakfast on a plate and waiting
for Kat as well as juice and milk beside it and Julia having just poured a
mug of coffee which she gave to Derek before reaching up to the cabinet
overhead and getting another mug to pour for herself.
"Eat up kiddo," she instructed Kat before adding humorously, having already
looked for herself "I need to swing by the store on my way back to replace
the junk food stash before Nick finds it's been raided to almost
nothingness."
She looked at Derek over the rim of her mug as she drank, hiding a smile.
He had showered, shaved and changed.. and looked great.

"Ran into Alex a couple of minutes ago and she roped me into visiting a
store or two before it's time to pick Kat up from school."
She couldn't help it and knew he would catch her grin considering the topic
of conversation they had had right before she had headed downstairs. The
lift of her eyebrow clearly asked if he was sure about his offer and even
teased him about it before adding on a more serious note "And Nick said he'd
catch you upstairs in the Control Room."
