<<ha, you booger, next time call and let me know
you're posting and I'll post faster ;p>>
Julia turned the corner and dialed Derek's cell phone
number as she pulled up in front of the house, turning off the ignition as it
rang and picking it up as she got out and holding it to her ear.
There was a car in the drive she didn't recognize but she
figured Reese had just gotten someone else to help out. Julia could only
hope it was someone that could lift the heavier of the boxes so it wasn't left
up to just Milo to try and move.
When Derek answered, she smiled and greeted him "Hello,
handsome, calling as promised. Any news?"
She headed toward the front door, now on the sidewalk that
led to it. She stopped when she saw an advertisement, figuring it dropped
from the mailbox and so picking it up to put back into it until Reese got around
to emptying it.
She then made it to the door and raised her hand to knock,
only to gasp as the door was opened suddenly and laugh sheepishly when it was
Claire.
Except.....
"Derek-" was all Julia got out before something from
behind the other woman reached out and grabbed Julia, pulling her in roughly so
that Julia was having to twist so that she caught her weight on her hands so
that she didn't hit the floor.
She then rolled over and saw Claire jump the man from
behind, trying in vain to hurt him.
Claire was tossed back against the now closed front door
and the man was reaching out to pull Julia up with little to no effort and
pushed into the livingroom and the nearest wall. The movement and
suddenness of it made Julia flinch, but it didn't stop her from glaring angrily
at the one that held her.
The phone she had been talking on had clattered to the
sidewalk and now laid out there in the bushes.
Julia dug her nails into the hand holding her by the
throat. The hold he had on her was strong but not completely cutting off
her air.
The man raised his hand, nails unnaturally long and almost
claw-like as he raised it to strike her.
It was only a sharp, commanding voice that stopped the
action from being taken and Julia found herself looking over and meeting a pair
of ice cold black eyes, one word reverberating in her mind.
Vampire.
