Unfortunately, Ellison was in no mood to listen to a joke and so looked at
her with quick grimace as he called back to Sandburg "Call for an ambulance
and a police escort."
He then knelt beside the man and checked his vitals, using both his
heightened senses and normal to check his pulse.
A few minutes later an ambulance arrived and they put the Priest in a gurney
and then rolled him into the back of the waiting emergency vehicle.
The police escort looked at Ellison and asked, pointing a little at the
blond "Is she with you?"
"Nope, she was here with the Padre." Ellison answered, adding "Might know
about the wreck."
The officer turned to Kristen "We'll need you to come with us to make a
statement. We can do it at the emergency room or Downtown, your
choice."
Kristin:
It was a shame that the officer didn't realize a little humour can relieve
a lot of tension. Oh well, not exactly the most important thing happening
today.
"Emergency room. And I'd be happy to give you a statement as soon as we
get there, so the faster the better." Kristin watched as they loaded Philip
into the back of the ambulance. "Don't worry Philip...I won't leave..."
concern for Philip was forcing Kristin to be a bit more curt with the
officers than she would be normally.
