They made it outside in a matter of minutes and Julia led them to Derek's
UV, opening the door and then pressing the switch that would unlock the
other doors
"Put her in the back." she instructed Sam as she picked up Derek's cell
phone and dialed the House. Two rings and Jonathan answered.
Julia gave him directions and instructed him to send someone to pick them
up, not knowing if there was a place nearby or not. Her gaze was glued to
the crypt entrance and voice terse as she included setting up a room for
Reese. She wanted to either go in after Derek and the others or wanted to
see them come out safe and sound.
But she knew she couldn't. Derek had to focus totally on getting the others
out and, even though they both knew she had the skill, the fact was he would
be worried about her and their child. And she wasn't willing to put him in
any kind of possible danger.
She shifted the sword she was holding and got into the UV. They would stay
there until the car showed up and then go to the House.
Where, she thought as she hung up to wait, she would most likely pace a hole
into the sitting room until everyone was back home and safe.
Jonathan immediately sent a car and security officer, then set about setting
up the guest bedroom as Julia had instructed; filled tub included.
Sam:
Sam helped Reese into the back seat and got her as comfortable as possible.
She sat crossed legged on the floor looking at her friend and feeling sick
inside. "How long will that take," she asked felling slightly panicked
about staying in this place, so close to those things.
Inside a small explosion could be heard. A diversionary tactic, to give
them a false location for one of the intruders. A few minutes later there
was another in a different place. Confuse them, that was the way to go.
