Megan:
"Derek's private life is no one's business but his own and I don't think he'd appreciate you ordering his girlfriend around."

"But to save us what can turn into an ugly fight I'm going to end this here and get with Derek later."

She put on her shirt and skirt, tucking in the slip where needed.

Julia:
Julia hugged the towels, more to control what she could have said than anything else, as she turned to Megan.

"Girlfriend?" she asked slowly before shaking her head and continuing "Never mind.  Megan there is obviously a crossed wire here somewhere.  Derek..."

Megan:
"I don't think it's any of your business." Megan reiterated, finished dressing and walking toward the door "I'll just speak with him when he gets back."

Megan stopped and looked at her "What were you going to say?"

Julia:
Julia's chin raised a notch but she didn't say, instead just agreeing with her again on her suggestion "You need to talk to Derek."

Megan:
Megan paused before speaking, her tone almost quiet with slow realization "You were going to say he's seeing someone, weren't you?  And you think you're the one he's seeing."

Julia:
Julia just looked at her, refusing to be baited.

Megan:
Megan was at the door and had it open, her hand on the door jam as she regarded the woman watching her.  Some things started to fall in place.  She was, after all, a reporter.

She was also very tenacious about things she wanted.  And she wanted Derek back.

She looked at the bed and started to speak "It doesn't matter.  I remember when we made love-"

Julia:
Julia gripped the towels in reflex but kept her voice controlled "I don't really want to hear about it."

Megan:
Megan looked at her and shrugged "It needs to be said."

Then she looked back at the bed, a part of her realizing she hadn't shared it with Derek even as she dismissed it and continued "When we made love he became thoughtful.  As if thinking and deciding something."

"He was deciding something actually.  There was someone in his past he loved.  He never told me but I could tell.  And I knew what he was deciding."

Megan paused and looked at Julia Walker "And I know what the decision was.  I don't want you getting hurt but he decided on me that day.  And I've decided I want him too."

With that she was turning to walk out.

Julia:
"Megan." Julia spoke, voice calm, strong and sure.  She had had enough and she was going to make it extremely clear to Megan that she wasn't going to just stand by and let the woman continue to throw herself at Derek  "He decided on you..... because he didn't think I would be able to come back.  Death is usually a final thing."

Megan:
Something flickered in Megan's gaze "We'll see."

Then she left.

Julia:
Julia looked at the spot she had been standing in and commented quietly "We'll see."

She then put the towel up, took the time to get herself together, and then headed to Derek's office.  She didn't want to run across Megan so soon after their... meeting and knew that the office was the best option at the moment.  That and it was more personal to Derek than the Control Room.  She debated about going back to their room but didn't want to be there either, not now anyway.

So she went to his office and sat on the small couch there, pulling her legs up to her so that her chin rested on her knees, and waited.
