"This," Derek replied gruffily to the resurrected creature as he spun on
the
balls of his feet towards the advancing vampires. He began to take aim anf shoot at random. Bolts of fire shot out of the gun striking some down, just grazing others, sut still hitting tartgets. Alex used the quick panic that the torch caused to pull Nick through the
masses of vampires not yet being touched by Derek's weapons. It was enough
cover to get Nick untied.
"Welcome back." Nick whispered to her before turning her in the direction
of the nearest tunnel "Now get the hell out of here. We're right behind
you!"
He had spoken to her in a low hiss so no one else would know what he said
but Alex looked at him with the beginnings of a stubborn glare.
"Not now, Alex. Be stubborn later. Get out!" Nick cut her
off before she could say anything, giving her a shove to start her on her way
before turning to make his way to Derek's side.
More vampires were freaking out which was fine by Nick. It meant they
were surrounded by less numbers.
He was almost to Derek when he spotted the girl that had been possessed and
was now holding Milo and noticed her distraction in holding that artifact.
He wasn't an expert but common sense would say that meant she didn't want
anything to happen to it.
Nick smiled humorlessly. It was time to have something happen to
it. He just hoped Derek kept the girl distracted.
