Julia was upstairs, with the small blanket that was in the office now around her as she sat, and Jonathan was downstairs, approaching the front door and admitting the two that stood there as they arrived on an impromptu trip.

"Mister Sloan," he greeted them both as they stepped in and he gathered their coats "Mrs. Rayne.  I'm afraid Doctor Rayne isn't in at the moment.  Would either of you like a cup of tea?"

He extended his hand toward the sitting room, putting the coats in the before turning back toward them.

"Actually," Sloan answered "I would love some.  Any idea when Derek will be back?"

"None." Jonathan replied simply as he followed them in and signaled one of the kitchen assistants as they brought in tea and biscuits "You're looking well Mrs. Rayne."

"Thank you, Jonathan." Barbara smiled at him as she sat and accepted a teacup and took a grateful sip.  Then "We aren't unconvincing you are we?"

"Of course not." he assured her "But I would like to go make sure that both of your rooms are ready if you don't mind?"

He left then, leaving the two surprise guests to unwind from their plane trips.
