He then shifted in his chair again.  "There is more," he admitted feeling as
though he were confessing for something he'd done as a child.  A far more
adult subject, but the feeling was the same.

"We just discovered...that....Julia is pregnant."  There he'd said it.

Barbara sat back and commented thoughtfully "That would explain her turning
down coffee and tea..."

"And please do not be insulted but..." she asked "Is the child yours?"

After all he did say she was just able to return to them.. and there was no
telling what a woman, for that amount of time, could have been put through,
especially to have been unable to contact them in any manner.  This was the
21st century.  Communication was one of the more readily available
commodities a person could have in most parts of the world.
