Edwin stood in near darkness now, leaning over the easal he laborued with his paints. It was still daylight but he always wanted to paint at night or in near darkness. He wasn't sure why he did it half the time though he was sure it was because he didnt want to see what was forming on the canvas. So he stood there with his tablet of paints and brush. Labouring away in his studio his curtains drawn giving him the desired darkness. Feeble light from that and a few candles let him paint at all. He stopped a moment closeing his eyes. He was remebering his last visit to the Luna Foundation house. There he had spent hours trying to divine the Micheal portait's secrets. Nothing came of it except tired eyes and a headache. Now he stood here painting again, feeling driven to the easel. Once more creating an image from the paints that lay on his tablet. The coolness of the room numbed his senses, only allowing him to focus on the portrait at hand. An image was becokming clearier now. A young woman, lovly wiht dark hair and eyes. She seemed sad somehow... She looked outward away from him, toward something unseen. A large pillar of marble was next to her as she overlooked a balcony. Mountains behind her jutting up into the sky. Giving stark contrast bewteen earth and sky. His hands often felt possed as if not his own when doing this. Another portrait coming to life at his hands. Anohter life changed and affected. The portrait did not seem to tell him any great secret or even but there was always something. He was finaly able to tear away from teh portrait. He dropped the tablet and brush down. Going to a window he looked out at the cruelean sky above him. Hoping that he never laid eyes on teh poor girl, hoping that just this once nothing would come of this painting. ===== Scott "Shard" Dirk "The Essence of Balance is Detachment.
