   Amber couldn't help but smile, especially when Nick
offered Kat to let her shoot with him.  She went to
the corner and looked for chalk.  It was more about
distancing herself for a few seconds than about really
needing it.  If only she were better at starting
conversations with adults, maybe she wouldn't feel so
out of place, in spite of Kristin and Kat's presence. 
She just hoped she wasn't giving them all the
impression of being unfriendly.  It was just something
that always happened when faced with people she wasn't
familiar with.  She became very nervous.
