Amber opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came
out, so instead she looked down, trying to stop
trembling. It felt as if her legs were going to
buckle beneath her, and it took all her strength to
keep it from happening. She just wished Kat, who
seemed like a clever girl, was clever enough to get
them both out without too much trouble.
