Jane's smile faltered for a second. "I could have
sent you the records if you had wanted them, you
didn't have to take a long trip just for that."
Seeing no way around it, Jane motioned the trio to
follow her. "I assume you'll be staying for a few
days," Jane said, leading the way into the house, not
noticing the look Nina shot Kristin as they entered
the house.
But Kristin caught the look. She raised an eyebrow at Nina and
Philip, smiled as Nick caught up with them, and followed Jane.
"Just a day or so...Philip's going to check in with his parish,"
Kristin hesitated for a minute as they all had to 'file' into the
House. "Besides, I'm the one who pulled that disappearing act; even
after you were good enough to let me to go to San Fransisco just
because of a few dreams."
That was a relatively neutral thing to say; something Jane couldn't
find fault with. Though--Kristin hadn't put in any request to transfer
Houses-she hadn't even decided what to do-so it was odd that Jane had
said she didn't need to make the trip...normally, she would have called
San Fransisco by now to get her to come back.
