Through all of this Derek struggled to move away.  He felt as though he were
swimming against the current and even being pulled backwards at times.  He
swore softly under his breath as he tried to keep his mind on what he was
doing and away from the pull of the demon.  Julia's voice helped him along
in this endeavor.

This all stopped with the flash of brilliant light.  The pull was gone
instanteously and Derek nearly over balanced and sent both he and Julia
tumbling.  Lucky, his shoulder struck the door frame to the library saving
them from that fate at least.  He took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"ARe you all right," he asked Julia.
