Barely aware of the others around it, the creature reveled in the power it
felt from the baby. She would have been a very powerful child, the demon
thought, if she would have been born, but the creature didn't plan on
letting that happen. It shouldn't be much longer now, and then the demon
could turn its attention to the others.

Julia winced and curled up on her side, the pain intense to the point that
calling out to Derek ended up being little more than a pathetic whispered
cry.

But her mind and soul were screaming in protest NO, YOU CAN'T HAVE HER --
NOT OUR DAUGHTER!

Derek started to run towards Julia, skidding dangerously on the split coffee
as he neared her. "Julia," he called dropping to his knees beside her and
putting his arms around her protectively. "LEAVE HER ALONE," he shouted tot
the beast. He scooped up his wife and moving as quickly as he could headed
towards the control room.
