"It must be a Wednesday." Julia muttered, thinking 'hellday' at the same time gauging the distance between the SUV's door and them and the time it would take to get them both inside of it before the two reached them.
Derek felt the wind knocked out of him on impact and lay there for a moment completely stunned. He was vaguely aware of what Julia was doing. His mind was spinning trying ot figure out what was going on. As the world started to clear some, he vividly remembered the quickly glance he had gotten of the red eyes coming at him. He grabbed Julia by the arm pushing himself off the car and moving as quickly as he could to get the both inside through the driver's door.
