Derek gave him a slight smile. "It is a good idea to make peace with ones family. Though you should also feel free to pursue your own interests. Do you have any idea why your father woudl go on that kind of a trek at this time of year? The weather is quite treacherous."
Bryce had to chuckle at this remark. "Have you ever been to Alaska? Treacherous whether up there is like fog in San Fransisco. Besides, Dad never was someone who would do something the easy way. It runs in the family too, I've gone on almost as many crazy trips as he has just to get some good picture. I nearly fell off a cliff once trying to get a nice shot of a waterfall. If we want something bad enough we'll take pretty much any risk."
