Julia watched Derek leave and then turned to Sloan "I need to speak with you."

"If I have time-"

She chuckled without humor and pointed a thumb toward the sitting room "I'm sorry, did you think that was a request?"

Sloan sighed and shook his head.  And someone had actually doubted she wasn't Julia at one time.

"Yes?" he asked once they were in the room, closing the door for privacy after she entered.

"Don't go."

He raised an eyebrow, about to repeat himself about needing to be involved considering his position and the fact Derek had kept the retrieval of the last five seplicurs to himself.

Julia stepped up to him, hands on hips and tone low but intense "Face it William, you rub all of us the wrong way because of your pompous ass attitude and the last thing we need is to be distracted by it which will surely happen.  And I promise you, if my husband gets hurt because you're up there and he has to deal with you..."

"What do you suggest then, hmm?" not denying nor confirming her claim about his effect on people.

"Stay here.  Watch, help IF and only if Alex needs you. Have the jet on standby to fly up there if we need you.

"Trust Derek to do this."

Sloan looked at her, most specifically at her stomach "You shouldn't be going in your condition."

Julia sighed "I have to.  Are you going to stay out of his hair?"

He looked at her and nodded once.  He'd stay here then.

"Thanks." she rubbed the bridge of her nose and turned to the doors "I'd stick around and talk but we have a lot to do before we leave."

"I'll go hide until you do." Sloan joked dryly as she left.

Julia entered the kitchen a moment later, giving Derek a crooked half grin "You realize I have gone without coffee for months now...?"
