Julia looked at the Soulchaser and then stepped away from the small group to listen to the sounds of nature that were supposed to be audible around them.
 
But they weren't.
 
She let her blue gaze travel over the wintery brush and trees, intent.  It was still nearby.  It was then that she felt a chill run down her spine and started to take a step back, to rejoin the others.
 
It was very near -
 
"So They let you keep that instinct, did They?"
 
Julia whirled around, the Being suddenly between her and the rest of the group, even as Rachel came into view just behind Derek and the others.
 
"A lot of good it did you though." It laughed slowly, raising it's hand and, in effect, raising an unseen barrier between her and the others.
 
Julia stood her ground, gazing back at the Being with an unflinching expression.  There was no way It would see her frightened.
