Julia flinched as Rachel stitched her up, even while a part of her wondered at the severety of the wound, considering the other woman hadn't waited until they were at the hospital to do it. But instead of letting on to how she felt, she just grumbled something about hating needles and then fell back to sleep as the medication took effect - arm about her stomach protectively and her head, when lifted, falling gently against Derek's shoulder.
Derek hated having to do it, but he did hold Julia tightly to keep her from moving, talking softly to her as Rachel worked. He felt a lot better once the experience was over and Julia seemed to be resting peacefully. Bryce's voice sound garbled to her as she fell deeper into sleep. Derek stood lifting Julia carefully and started towards the helicopter. "I'll be happy to discuss this with you Bryce, but not right now. Please help Nick, we need to get out of here."
