I think you misunderstand Polymer as just the elements that are made using
Polymer. Angular's material elements are not competing with Polymer. This
could be the root cause of a lot of your other misunderstandings in this
thread.

Take a little time and dig in and you'll find Polymer is a different kind
of thing.
