I've already tried, but still ping times to South Europe are very high
as you can see
--- ntp1.inrim.it ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 3999ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 70.954/72.383/74.783/1.393 ms
--- ntp2.inrim.it ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4000ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 87.282/87.879/88.444/0.542 ms
--- ptbtime2.ptb.de ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4001ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 89.815/90.649/91.792/0.723 ms
--- ntp2.linx.net ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 3998ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 141.649/142.121/142.602/0.393 ms
--- ntp2.rrze.uni-erlangen.de ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 3997ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 65.639/66.055/66.524/0.346 ms

Dear,
I've got a server in Egypt (s01.eg.it2go.eu
<http://s01.eg.it2go.eu>) and i would like to install a NTP server
on it. Everything went well, but i can't find any NTP stratum 1
or 2 server in Egypt (or around) to sync with.
There may be no public-access Startum 1 in Egypt :-(
Anyone that have some idea's? I've already tried the two wiki
pages (stratum one and stratum two) on pool.ntp.org
<http://pool.ntp.org> but there isn't mentioned one in Egypt.
Use the following list? You might be close in latency to Southern Europe.
ntp1.inrim.it <http://ntp1.inrim.it>
ntp2.inrim.it <http://ntp2.inrim.it>
ptbtime2.ptb.de <http://ptbtime2.ptb.de>
ntp0-p.ja.net <http://ntp0-p.ja.net>
ntp2.linx.net <http://ntp2.linx.net>
ntp2.rrze.uni-erlangen.de <http://ntp2.rrze.uni-erlangen.de>
I understand you are also thinking of NTP servers in India; if they
have a Tata/VSNL upstream, latency to Egypt might be good (SEA-ME-WEA
cable).
