A few hours later I tried again, connected, downloaded ntp-4.2.8 and my attempts to build on two different systems, both NetBSD-6/i386 failed. I then downloaded ntp-dev-4.2.7p483 which built ok on both systems. Due to lack of information on the existing vulnerabilities I'm considering withdrawing all four of my pool servers until the situation is clarified or a version of ntp-4.2.8 is released that will build on NetBSD-6 and/or NetBSD-7 both i386 and amd64.
