Two amazing messages in quick sucession:
--- Steve Isard: Getting updates from git repository
--- Waldek Hebisch: New poplog_base7.tar.bz2
I've been busy with tasks unrelated to poplog (e.g. getting my HP printer
to work on new linux machine, ....).
But in the poplog download directory
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/projects/poplog/V16/DL
used by the getpoplog.sh script, I have now changed
latest_poplog_base.tar.bz2
to be a link to
poplog_base7.tar.bz2
The old version is still there:
poplog_base6.tar.bz2
So the getpoplog.sh script now gets the new version, which presumably makes
Steve's github advice unnecessary at the moment, but can be used to fetch
and install later updates direct from github.
Waldek wrote:
So now popvision and neural seem to work
If I remember correctly, linux blas and lapack libraries (64 bit) will need
to be installed to for popvision to work, and and possibly also for neural.
File locations, for anyone feeling adventurous after downloading:
$usepop/pop/packages/popvision
$usepop/pop/packages/neural
Both have important documentation files, including:
README
README-64-bit.txt
(with comments by Waldek and Steve Leach, which may or may not be out of
date!)
If anyone tries the new versions please report results, especially any
problems and how you overcame them!
