To any lucky souls that still have an active POP3 account from iName, I
would suggest discretion, because I can assure you that iname/mail.com
does not now, nor did they ever, intend for any of those "trial users"
to have a free ride for life.

It has been a real curiosity to me why these accounts were never closed
at the end of the expiration period during the trial periods. I know
that many people signed up for these accounts purely intending to just
use them temporarily till they expired. And they expected the accounts
to close upon expiration. But they never did. Like the Energizer
Bunny, they just went on and on and on... :-)

Of course today, signing up for a free trial period of an iName or
Mail.com account is impossible. They finally got a clue. You now must
present credit card before advancing in the signup procedure to create
a POP3 account.
