Brian just brought up Dig as an Internet DNS utility. I confess I had
never heard of it.

My shell accounts do not allow me access to Dig so I am left with
nslookup. However, earlier I was actually using a Windoze program
called WS_Ping Pro Pack - by the same people that make the great WS_FTP
program.

WS_Ping Pro Pack is one of those Swiss Army Internet Utilities with
several clients built in. Even though it is a great program, I did not
wish to promote it because it is shareware. I would rather find
freeware for my subscribers.

Ahhh! But you know what? I now know of a good freeware swiss army
Internet Utilities program for Windows 9X computers. It has ping,
traceroute, nslookup, finger, whois, netscanner, quote-of-the-day,
Internet time synchronization and a winsock database scanner. Pretty
cool. And the nslookup has the parameters we need to query the name
servers for specific resources.

What is the name of this terrific freeware app you ask? Where can you
get it? LOL...you are going to hate me. <g>

I am going to send the name to Ben and see if he wants to post it to a
future Useful-Things newsletter. If yes, then you will have to
subscribe to U-T. If not, then I'll post it.

Now if you know which program I am talking about, don't give it away.
We'll tell you in due time.
