I don't these nominations are too surprising, except for the completely
inexplicable nominations for "The Cider House Rules"!!!!! What's up with
that, it was at most a DECENT movie. The last thought on my mind when I
left the theater was a best picture nomination. I don't know which movie
was shafted due to this, most likely The Talented Mr. Ripley, but there's
something fishy going on. The Talented Mr. Ripley was a much better movie
than Cider House, and on top of that are at least five or six other movies
that were easily better than it that weren't nominated. And I thought I
was in the loop for movie matters....
