i think you're definitely right about the bonding qualities of an experience
in a theatre between people. it would be an interesting experiment indeed...
to experience music (only music) in a group setting. as i recall, even music
without images has images for me. whether it's the desert of new mexico that
comes to mind whenever i listen to REM on a walkman (from roadtrips) or the
returned dimensions of a building from hearing something by Franz Liszt.
wouldn't it be cool if we could all project and communicate what each song
means to us? imagine the stories we could tell through music.
in another direction, this music theatre thing is almost a soundtrack without
a movie. i think you already said that.
